Documentation is of utmost importance to grow as a dentist. The need for dental photography course has been growing a lot lately. After conducting dental photography workshops for more than a decade. I knew we had to come up with a comprehensive program that not only covered dental photography but general photography as well. Hence the Integrated dental photography course at manipal college of dental science came into existence.   The course is a well planned module based program. Module 1 has the following curriculum : DURATION 3 days ( 9 am to 4 pm)
  • Introduction to photography
  • Camera handeling
  • Camera buttons & settings
  • Investing on the right equipment
  • Exposure triangle
  • Extraoral photography
  • Intraoral photography on typodonts
  • Demonstration of complete intraoral protocol on patient
  • Hands on intraoral photography (Delegates have to do on each other)
  • Grey card use
  • Outdoor photography in a nutshell
  • Editing, collage making and watermarking images
 

There will be 4 home assignments of 25 marks each to be done after module 1 of the dental photography course. They have to be submitted via email on info@dentalphotographyschool.in before module 2 commencement.

Module 2 has the following curriculum :
  • Revision & group discussion of home assignments
  • Advanced photography
  • Studiolight photography demo
  • Glamour dental photography
  • Table top photography (of prosthesis / specimens)
  • Close up of lips in glamour photography
  • Advanced general photography
  • Advanced editing
  • Assessment (100 marks)
